Here's a small sample of notable cases.

Notable Cases

Troubled World War II Vet

On Veterans Day, a troubled World War II Vet became enraged at his daughter, retrieved his revolver, and fired two shots at her in his home.

Police arrived, observed the bullet holes in the walls and had to physically wrestle the gun out of the clients hands.

Already a smoking gun case (quite literally) the client further admitted to firing the shots and gave a reason as to why he did so to the police.

Faced with a myriad of violent crimes, the client would likely have been destined to die in prison, not just due to his age and health complications, but also because of the District Attorney's ironclad "No Plea Policy" on firearms, which, by law, would mandate a minimum sentence of 3 ½ years incarceration.

After a series of negotiations, I successfully obtained a significantly reduced plea for my client, resulting in no jail.

Misguided Mother

A young woman violated the terms of her visitation agreement with the father of her son by moving their child to Washington State. This is almost as far away as you can get from Buffalo in the contiguous USA.

The odds were very much against my client in terms of whether she had any chance of keeping her child in Washington. After researching the most on-point authoritative cases regarding this issue, speaking with all the parties and proposing several different ways to resolve this matter, I was able to obtain an outcome where the client was able to keep her child in Washington while availing the father ample opportunity to see his son.

There were no complaints from either party regarding this outcome and both parties found the resolution to be very workable.

Search and Seizure

During a night of partying, three young men were arrested and charged with felony possession of cocaine.  One of the defendants hired a reputable local attorney and the second went with the public defender; both individuals obtained favorable plea deals.  The third defendant hired me. I held the arresting officers' and the prosecutor's feet to the fire, filing the necessary motions and holding a suppression hearing where the case was dismissed.
